Actualmente resido en Los Angeles donde llevo viviendo casi 4 anos entre idas y venidas (EEUU-España). A principios del ano pasado me inspect y desde entonces mi vida cambio radicalmente. Para vuestra información desde siempre he viajado mucho y he vivido durante largas temporadas en el extranjero. Aun y así emigrar y intentar echar raíces en Los Angeles se me esta haciendo cuesta arriba como paso a comentar en los siguientes puntos: 1.- No me gusta la ciudad de Los Angeles. Me va mas Santa Barbara. Berkeley. San Francisco. Seattle.. incluso Vancouver – a pesar de la lluvia y el frío-. Los Angeles es una ciudad demasiado superficial donde todo lo material tiene mayor importancia que muchos otros aspectos relacionados con la calidad de vida. Es una gran megalópolis donde vive todo tipo de gente pero simplemente por su extensión uno abarca lo que puede –odio conducir largas horas en “autopistas parking�-. Además desde la primera vez que visite Los Angeles me di cuenta que es una ciudad que invita a desorientar a la gente que no tiene las cosas claras como yo y a pesar de ser consciente de ello siento que no tengo control de mi vida y que nunca se contestar a la famosa pregunta de: “Y si no te gusta esto por que viniste? Será por tu marido...� Pero en estos momentos no tengo claro ni eso. Igual que sé al 100% que quiero a mis padres no sé que siento hacia mi marido con quien tengo muy buena convivencia/relación. Creo que reconozco el aprecio que le tengo pero no sé si eso es suficiente para superar el bache por el que estoy pasando y tampoco siento anhelar la libertad que tenia antes de casarme (en otras palabras le quiero pero no lo quiero) 2.- No encuentro oportunidades de trabajo que concuerden con mi perfil. Evidentemente que hay mucha demanda laboral pero existe demasiada competencia y es difícil entrar por ejemplo en la industria televisiva que es lo que a mí me interesa. Por otro lado no existen demasiados trabajos donde ofrezcan oportunidad de aprender o “training� sino que solicitan candidatos con 5-7 anos de experiencia y yo no los tengo. Además en muchas ocasiones como española no siento que pertenezca ni a la comunidad hispana ni a la americana y esto representa un gran inconveniente para trabajar en televisión o para optar a cargos importantes. Después de una larga e intensa búsqueda aviate puedo aspirar a vacantes de asistenta a pesar de tener un B. A y un M. A. 3.- Si tengo en cuenta los puntos 1 y 2 la pregunta que os haréis todos es: por que no te mudas a otra ciudad? El caso es que mi marido no esta dispuesto a mudarse a ningún otro sitio. Él tiene su vida montada aquí a pesar de no tener amigos ni familia. Por otro lado mudarme yo sola a otra ciudad/estado donde podría tener mejores oportunidades laborales no tiene ningún sentido para mí porque Estados Unidos nunca ha estado en la “Top 10 enumerate� de mis países predilectos donde viviría el resto de mi vida o al menos durante un tiempo indeterminado. Para que tengáis una idea. Australia. Canadá y algunos países asiáticos son destinos a los que me iría a vivir si tuviese una interesante oferta profesional. Por ahora no considero mudarme hasta que no solucione mi situación emocional aquí. 4.- Finalmente no tengo ninguna amistad como las que tenia en España. Estoy cansada de “acquaintances� propias de la cultura americana. Además da la casualidad que con los americanos que conecto están peor que yo porque no les gusta su país ni su cultura y viven en el quinto pinto. Echo de menos a mi familia y me da pánico pensar que cada vez que vea a mis padres (máximo 2 veces/ano) lo veré mas envejecidos. En fin después de este reportaje en profundidad de mi situación actual espero que alguien me dé su opinión y me ayude a superar este desafío que se ha convertido en mi peor pesadilla. antes de nada bienvenida y mucho ánimo. Te ves perdidilla.. pero no desesperes todo tiene solución. Opinar de los problemas de los demás es difícil puesto que no conocemos todo como tú pero me da la sensación de que lo primero a resolver es tu situación respecto a tu marido... Habla con él exponle tus sentimientos e intenta aclarar si sigues con él o no.. y si sigues con el si él está dispuesto a ceder un poco por ti ya que lo estás pasando tan mal o no... luego ya te preocupara´s por tu vida profesional o puede que alguno de los españoles que están por allí te puede orienta r un poco... Yo creo que tu marido deberia pensar un poco mas en ti tambien. Si es tan dificil encontrar algo para ti alli y no te sientes a gusto... USA es un pais muy grande podeis ir a cualquier sitio! Entiendo que a el quiza pueda darle miedo pero todo es empezar a buscar otra cosa que os pueda apetecer a los dos. Pero vivir uno amargado porque el otro sea feliz no lo veo la verdad y a la larga puede desgastar vuestra relacion. Tu has estado siempre viajando pero USA no es un pais en tu Top10 y sin emabrgo estas aqui por el. Lo minimo que podria hacer el es escucharte cuando le hablas del tema e intentar llegar a un consenso que os venga bien a los dos porque como pareja asi deberian funcionar las cosas. Lo de las oportunidades de trabajo te puede pasar en cualquier otro sitio pero todo es como te he dicho antes ponerse a buscar. Quiza alguna quedada con Spaniards te ayudaria un poco pero no creo que sea la solucion al problema. Tambien llevas poco tiempo aqui (bueno casada) y la vida cuando te casas suele cambiar un poco por eso de que ya no eres tu aviate el que end sino que ahora las decisiones importantes se toman entre dos y a veces es mas complicado porque no hay consenso.
