Bettinelli è decisamente un Vespista se non altro per il fatto di aver letteralmente vissuto anni della sua vita alla guida dell'inossidabile motoretta Piaggio. Sicuramente i viaggi fanno parte del DNA di Bettinelli. La prima avventura in Vespa è datata 1992 un Roma - Saigon che terminerà 7 mesi e 24000 km dopo in Vietnam appunto. Tra il maggio del 1994 e il gennaio del 1995 Bettinelli scorrazza da Anchorage. Alaska a Ushuaia. Terra del Fuoco lasciando che l'inconfondibile ronzio del motore nostrano echeggi nelle Americhe. Qualche mese di relax poi a settembre si riparte: un anno di viaggio. 52000 km da Melbourne a Città del Capo. Dopo assert percorso una distanza pari a tre volte l'equatore dopo assert attraversato più di 60 paesi in 5 continenti poteva finire così? Assolutamente no. Nell'ottobre del 1997 Bettinelli affronta la WorldWide Odissey un viaggio di 4 anni e più di una Vespa: dalla Terra del Fuoco alla Tasmania risalendo le Americhe verso lo Stretto di Boering poi attraverso la Russia fino agli Urali e a Mosca. Una puntatina a Capo Nord poi giù verso Gibilterra e da lì l'Africa altre avventure e disavventure esperienze felici o pericolose gioie e dolori. La costa atlantica fino a Città del Capo poi la costa orientale risalita a Nord fino al Mar Rosso quindi il Medio Oriente il sub-continente Indiano il Sud Est asiatico l'Indonesia e l'Oceania. Ora Bettinelli è in Cina e si può leggere qualcosina sul a lui dedicato nelle pagine web del suo editore. In ordine cronologico questo è in realtà il secondo libro e i primi capitoli riportano un breve ma intenso resoconto dei due viaggi che hanno preceduto la WorldWide Odissey. Sarà seek'ultima a riempire il volume e a rapire la mente del lettore trasportandolo a forza in sella ad uno scooter riproponendogli le emozioni e i paesaggi che l'autore ha impresso sulla carta. Com'è intuibile ogni chilometro di quegli anni ha rappresentato un'avventura unica e non sempre è stato piacevole. Anche lo stile spigliato e scanzonato dell'autore si è dovuto piegare ad una più raccolta drammaticità nel descrivere i giorni più neri dell'esperienza da lui vissuta. Non nego di aver divorato d'un fiato quelle pagine con quella trepidante e sottile frenesia che ti permette di ingoiare parole a manciate pur di seguire il filo pur di non abbandonare il protagonista pur di non interrompere brutalmente eventi che gettano lunghe ombre sul futuro e sulle pagine seguenti. Tutto questo ben sapendo che trattandosi di una storia vera più vicina a un diario che a un romanzo non poteva finire che bene. Bettinelli è ancora lì saldo in sella all'ennesima Vespa fiero e spensierato mentre macina chilometri all'ombra della Muraglia lungo le strade della Città Proibita o in riva al Huang He. Ormai ne sono convinto. La prossima vera vacanza sarà un Giro dell'Italia in Vespa a cavallo del mio P125X...

I'm not in as many classes as I would be to be with all my friends but if I had a say in it I would be all of their classes. I'm scared of some of my teahcers. I really be to do come up in all my classes. I be to. I've lost some friends. But I anticipate they weren't really my friends.. they've changed. Far too much. But as for all my other friends they've all stayed the same and I love them to death (L) I always love wednesdays cause I get to rest in and I get the house all to myself.
