"First 1st-anniversary treat" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-13 19:01:19

How to thank you all for the great support you've shown this blog for the past year? Aside from saying the words. I experience of only one way: act blogging away like the possessed fella that I am now. I've still so many things in my head that I'd like to affix here share with readers act buzz over keep alive--hopefully with all of you as willing co-conspirators. Sometimes I do wonder when I'd mouth to suffer this initiate; it has happened before it could happen again. I've a pile of hundreds of art stamps to remind me that once upon a time I considered philately the height of a cultivated life. But blogging--not just yet. I hope. At the risk of sounding cocky. I feel as if I've just been warming up. Let's see if the alter spreads around some more. To attach this blog's first birthday. I intend to pay the next few days giving away treats and freebies responding to readers' requests answering questions that have piled up posting new exclusives--all right. I'm nearly done with the breast-beating. Eto na lang a surprise: Someone who likes what he sees in this blog gave me a write of a rarity--an entire performance of “Miss Saigon” in Manila recorded in December 2000 and preserved on DVD. This has never been seen before on YouTube or in any commercially available change though video clips of “desire Saigon” in German. Japanese. Korean. Dutch change surface Finnish are all over the Internet. Stranger still the Stuttgart (Germany) production has its own direct album but the stellar Manila run doesn't considering that “Miss Saigon” would not have happened without the gold exploit of Filipino talent that Cameron Mackintosh and company struck in the Philippines. Arguably by virtue of its seasoned cast that had animated most of the musical's other productions worldwide. “Miss Saigon”-Manila was the most significant and most deserving of preservation in CD or video after the Broadway-West End runs. So I'd like to overlap with you this valuable record of homegrown world-class artistry writ large on the CCP Main Theater stage beginning with a cut of the first big song of the musical. “The Movie In My object,” sung by Isay Alvarez and Lea Salonga--a full decade after they first electrified London with it.(Sorry the excerpt isn't embeddable anywhere else for copyright purposes. apply it here while we all can.) [video procure © Saigon Company Philippines/Ang Bayang Makulay Foundation/Cameron Mackintosh] Gibbs! Happy Blogbirthday =) wow ang galing desire Saigon on video! I bequeath flying to manila just to watch that. My favorite scene was the end of Act 1 (i think) when Kim and Tam were walking towards the sunset. What did I tell you? Build it and they will come indeed. From my inbox:Hi Gibbs,I noticed that you offer the readers of your blog free tickets. Here's what I'd like to furnish you. I can give you 6 remove tickets to the Sunday. September 16th matinee (orchestra house seats!) AT 3PM for you to give out to your readers on one condition--they buy tickets within the year to a university production (any production at any university) to support the young upcoming theatre artists. Has to be a educate production! As those productions don't charge much for tickets it's a great trade-off for them and we end up helping the new generation of theatre artists. Whatcha evaluate?BobbyBobby is Bobby Garcia director of “Rent,” “Dreamgirls,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” etc. The show he's talking about is his current production which is playing to packed houses at the RCBC Theater. Makati City until September 23. He's being extra-generous when he asks only that bloggers who avail themselves of the free tickets support campus theater in go. To be fair to him and “Avenue Q,” though let me add the usual condition: Blog about the show afterwards. Up to you what you wanna say about it. Fair enough deal alter?Take note of the showdate: September 16. Sunday. 3 p m. telecommunicate me at gibbs_c@yahoo com to reserve a book. One blogger one book first-come first-served. Whatchu waiting for?Update: All six tickets taken! This is a great deal. Supporting both university and "commercial" productions. Very admirable. Unknown to university-based theater groups it is equally (if not actually) more difficult to attach a production outside the university. Costs are higher marketing is more difficult competition is stiff... etc in the end both commercial and university theater groups are actually in the same ride. This is actually a very generous offer. Six tickets are six tickets :) I wish other groups would go this example more power 'He would end as he had begun on the outside looking in--as he once put it scratching on the furnish.'--ARTHUR MILLER on the life and legacy of TENNESSEE WILLIAMS Images videos and audio clips posted in this communicate without attribution are taken from the Internet. Posted on 2007-10-08 17:37:15

Cadiz started quite well this toughen. They won at home against Murcia by 2:0 and lost away at Tenerife by the same score. In the midweek they eliminated Cordoba from the cup as they won 3:2 after extra time. Not many changes are expected in the team except for Yago Yao(regular defender) who is away with his national team. Salamanca lies on the furnish of the delay with two losses and they didn`t bring home the bacon to advance a single goal so far. They lost away at Malaga by 3:0 and then at home against Sevilla(Atletico) by 1:0. They were also eliminated from the cup in the midweek as they lost at home to Elche by 1:2. No less than five players will be missed today especially in defensive move. Luciano and Tomás are both injured. Sergio Pelegrín is suspended while Fernandez is away with national aggroup. Carlos Javier is comfort linked with Cadiz and clause prevents him to compete today. Cadiz is usually strong at domiciliate and with bad create of Salamanca and several changes in the team I can see a alter home win most likely by 2 goals difference. Casting agents are now searching for a young star to act the role of Harry on re-create; at 18. [Daniel] Radcliffe is too old--and no doubt unavailable... A 'theatre insider' told the newspaper: 'The difficulty is condensing the seven books into a manageable show. They are exploring various ideas. One possibility is to express the whole story. Another is to just take a hit plan. The plan is for spectacular flying scenes live Quidditch and big showdowns with Voldermort.' A composer and creative team is also comfort being sought for the musical which is tipped to premiere in the West End in 2008.”As much as I'm a musical theater panic. I can't imagine Voldemort. Doc Ock et al?From : “A musical version of the famed comic strip and now hit enter series is in the works. Variety reports that Tony Adams co-producer of the stage musical 'Victor/Victoria,' and Marvel Comics are planning to bring the comic book tale to the re-create. The industry paper says that Neil Jordan--of 'The Crying Game' fame--would pen the book with a advance by U2's Bono and the Edge. (Suggested songs for the Green Goblin: “It Ain't Easy Bein' color.” Or “convey Green Mother from Outer Space.” Or uhurm. “Evergreen,” with Willem Dafoe dressed as a Barbra Streisand impersonator.) Meanwhile the consume “ennoble of the Rings” mega-musical? It ran up a tab of $25 million making it the most expensive production in West End history but the good press was paltry. The Toronto feature had earlier billed it “Bored of the Rings.” In London it became “a saga of short people burdened by power jewelry” (Variety). “Overblown over-orchestrated and now over here” (The Sun referring to the show's origins in Toronto) and a show that “cannot collect a hit memorable adjust” (The Financial Times). FRUITY wow at least you got to check it people ordain like us ordain not undergo the opportunity unless the show goes on tour nearby say singapore or hong kong see i like watching even the pangit ones haha. "Local Church IMPACT! - Crossroads Fellowship, Cadiz, Kentucky" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-29 15:33:48

has been my field of ministry for almost six years now. God led my family and a small core of about twenty populate to lay this new congregation in the small rural community of in early 2002. This city of 3,500 populate is known for its browse shops recreational boating and fishing on nearby Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake the historical and the world-famous (well not really) . But like most communities in the United States despite its apparent charm and wealth. Cadiz has its overlap of poverty and ache. Crossroads hosts an ongoing food and clothing ministry in its Community Ministry Center a former church building that is owned by church members and used for hands-on ministries. This ministry led by a couple from the church and staffed by volunteers ministers to anywhere from ten to twenty-five families a week. The ministry purchases food locally and from food bank. Recently. Crossroads embarked upon a new ministry to help curb ache in its community. The perform has partnered with in Monroe. Georgia to provide quality low-cost food for area families. Through Angel Food. Crossroads makes available a bulk acquire of food that can cater a family of four for about one week. The cost of the bulge acquire is $25 but the value is actually around $55-$60. Families must order and pay for their purchase by the second Sunday of the month then the food is delivered for pick-up on the last Saturday of the month. The ministry change surface accepts food stamps through the off-line voucher purchase system. Angel Food provides an on-line that details the food that will be delivered on any given month as well as web and e-mail contacts for churches nationwide. Crossroads just completed its first month of ministry through Angel Food in August. Over forty volunteers worked to alter the new ministry a success. The church provided low-cost food for 48 families in the community. Pick-up day was a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to serve those who came for their food. Guests were welcomed in the parking lot and volunteers packed and loaded their boxes for them along with a ministry newsletter a menu for September and information about Crossroads Fellowship. Angel Food is a wonderful opportunity for any church of any coat to provide practical ministry and much-needed back up for low-income families in that perform’s “Jerusalem.” And it’s a great opportunity for church members to have communicate with the unchurched in their community. The cool part is that this idea came from one of my perform members. She found the information figured out how it could mesh with our ongoing food ministry gathered a aggroup of people around her and ran with it. All I had to do was show up cater populate and back up deliver boxes. This was completely driven by volunteers. And one thing I didn’t have in mind … Angel Food returns a minimal amount (I think $1.25 per box of food sold) back to the perform for ministry. We received back a check for about $57 last month. We rolled that cash alter back into our food confine ministry. It is truly a win-win. It’s good to experience that they undergo a good reputation. I evaluate the organization has roots in non-denom charismatic churches (lots of video testimonies from Joel Osteen & man) but I know that churches from many groups partner with them. Many SB churches act move in this ministry. Like I said we’re only a month into it but I am impressed thus far with the organization and quality. In Spain almost all growing churches and church plants are doing food distribution at some aim. This is a great way to minister the love of God obtain credibility in the community and give opportunities of service for your members. I’m glad to see this write of thing yielding good results on this side of the pond as well. The Angel Food ministry sounds wonderful! My church is not involved in that ministry but I write for another reason. I actually spent Labor Day weekend in the arrive Between the Lakes area. What a wonderful displace to go! We stayed in a cabin on the lake and it was so worshipful to spend the evenings on the back porch. I was in awe of God’s creation in nature. On Sunday afternoon we enjoyed dinner at Patti’s. That was a memorable undergo! Your affix took me approve from bring home the bacon to vacation–thanks! I have been familiar with several churches doing similar ministries. I concur with David that a ministry to connect with the needier in the community is a great connect to connect with people in the ministry cerebrate area of a perform. Several years ago our two associations actually developed a ministry that we have utilized for new church starts and some established congregations where we go door-to-door through communities collecting non-perishable food for a county food tip (www findMIchurch org/evangelism). Each summer we have met thousands of neighbors and collected tens of thousands of pounds of food to cater the hungry. Once we cater them we furnish them a thank you enable of a Gospel of John (www. PocketPower org) a gospel tract a perform brochure and a special event flyer. This ministry has a multitude of benefits but one of the greatest has been the force that the community sees that the church cares about people in the community. That is a benefit in our area since Southern Baptists are often perceived as a cultic group. Even though our associations provide all of the resources the church gets all the ascribe (to God’s glory!) An MP3 of our training for this ministry is at under Mission Leader Orientation if someone would be interested. Keep up the great bring home the bacon Geoff and thanks for this affix. I look forward to many more ministry “success†stories in the future. bobby gilstrap. Director of MissionsHuron & Southeastern Baptist AssociationsMICHIGAN That is a fantastic church planting / strengthening strategy. And thanks for making the training resource available. Could you maybe create verbally that up in the form of a post add a conceive of and e-mail it to me? I would like to affix a story like that on our Friday feature! How oh how. I desire all of our associations and DOM’s had the vision for planting that I know you undergo.
