Ever since seeing Zana's cutout skull sweater by Pleasure Principle. I've had a major crush on the label. From their fantastically simple split knee jeans to their knot dress their designs are extremely covetable. Anyway to the point of this article (which wasn't to gush about the brand). I'd been lusting over Pleasure Principle's for what seems like ages when I realized that it would make a rather simple DIY project. As if buying Cingular Wireless last year just to get the iPhone on AT&T’s side and providing users with crappy 3G service wasn’t enough. AT&T is now going to try screwing us again with Satellite TV from DirecTV. As a long customer of AT&T (couple years ago). I am glad I made the choice to never buy or use any of their products until they die a horrible death.  Well literally. AT&T is full of crap and the only reason they are surviving is the fact that their. Now. I don’t even like any cable or satellite companies but AT&T. I do hate with passion. (Yes only if their customer support team was able to refund all my monies that might change but heck they are a big giant poop to me now.) Help my cause and please boycott AT&T at all possible costs.  You can buy the iPod Touch just don’t buy an iPhone with AT&T.  (crap it’s crap get the ) AT&T will market and sell a co-branded version of DirecTV’s satellite TV service after Jan. 31. 2009 — a deal that will leave Dish Network without a major reseller partner. DirecTV has similar agreements with Verizon Communications which markets the direct-broadcast satellite service in areas where it doesn’t offer FiOS TV as well as Qwest Communications International. The free demo version of Replay Media Catcher allows anyone to watch 75 percent of anything recorded and 100 percent of YouTube videos. For $39 a user can watch everything recorded. Amazon com’s Adobe-powered Video On Demand service allows viewers to watch the first two minutes of a movie or TV show for free. It charges up to $3.99 to rent a movie for 24 hours and up to $14.99 to download a movie permanently. Amazon starts to stream the entire movie during the free preview — even though it pauses the video on the Web browser after the first two minutes — so that users can start watching the rest of the video right away once they pay. “It’s the traditional trade-off convenience on the one hand and security on the other,” said Ray Valdes analyst at research group Gartner. However even if a user doesn’t pay the stream still sends the movie to the video catching software but not the browser. Check out these cool Skatebrakes that will add brakes to your skateboard.  Of course this isn’t really practical for freestyling on the streets but it will definitely help if you live in area like San Francisco where steep hills will make it impossible for you to ride continuously. With this brake kits fear no more 45 degree hills in San Francisco just apply the brakes if you happen to slide down too fast.  I think even if you are an advanced skateboarder this will help in really steep hills as it’s annoying to put your right foot down everytime you are going too fast. When did start?  Well it probably goes back to the days of DOS operating system but Windows made it practical and famous with its blue screens of death. These Control Alt Delete Cups will let you free yourself from stress by drinking the keys not punching or hitting them with your fists.  (I have to admit that on many occasions using Windows 95 and 2000. I did punch out couple of Control. Alt and Delete keys.) At the heart of my firework ignition system is an SX48 running at 50 MHz. I was able to make full use of the SX's 36 IO pins. Thirty lines are dedicated to the 30 channels. Two lines connect to a MAX233 chip for serial port control. Another line is connected to a 7805 (TO-92) which monitors the state of the arming key. The remaining 3 lines are used to communicate with the PIC A/D converter via an SPI interface. The system was built with cost as an important factor. At $10 the SX48 Proto board was an easy choice with its incorporated 5V regulator led and all the difficult surface mount soldering already done for me. I also designed 2 pc boards using the freeware version of Cadsoft's Eagle. The interface board connects the SX48 Proto board and contains the MAX233 chip. A/D converter and 30 LEDs to represent the state of each of the 30 channels. It’s a rather “in-your-face” type of advertising where you force your visitors to really read your Adsense or Chitika ads. Because it gives you the most bang for your buck.  Of course if you have a million dollars of funding and you are simply trying to promote your brand you could go without advertising.  But for people like me who depend on Adsense and Chitika to pay rent it’s crucial that money keeps rolling in the bank otherwise this site wouldn’t be paid for and there would be no more websites. If you think it’s too much advertising think of it this way.  (Provided you live in the U. S.,) Can you tell me how many full 20-second advertisements you see on every TV show? It’s the same thing in blogging and you need to really force ads down the readers throat per say.  It’s not the most nice way to make money but heck sometimes you gotta do what needs to be done. Anyway. I hope this heat map helps you make more money online as I have worked on this for last 5-6 months or so optimizing it.  (Yes. I did the analysis and optimization for you so all you have to do is follow it.) Now please don’t complain there’s too many ads on this site unless you would like to pay for my rent and credit card bills. Whatever you do… no matter what… and this is job #1 so pay attention… always have a paper copy of your notes in your suit pocket.     Allow me to repeat myself — Have paper backup of your talk.    Get a "wireless presenter"    You plug a small receiver into any USB port then hold the tiny clicker in your hand.  My clicker is 1-1/2 inch across. 3-1/2 inches long and about 1/2 inch thick.  It fits easily and unobtrusively into your hand.   No one will even notice it.

"Anyone Interested in low cost single run PCBs?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 16:42:07

I have recently completed a small CNC mill that I can mill out small PCBs on. I was thinking about selling custom single run PCBs. The prices would be very reasonable at $10-$25 with shipping via USPS. I have to use Cadsoft's Eagle and the boards cannot be very complicated desire there can't be traces run between pads on.1" spacing. All I do is mill and drill (no silk screen or conjoin disguise). If anyone is interested please let me know.

"Critter board reference released" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 19:03:42

Critter and Guitari undergo released their boards... .. We are releasing all PCB schematic and layout files including Gerber files for everything in the Critter Boards category. All designs are done in Cadsoft's shoot layout schedule -- a remove version of this schedule is available. This good news comes with some bad. For a variety of reasons we will no longer be selling small quantities of Critter Board development tools. This is unfortunate but to keep give for those interested in building self-contained music/video instruments we've decided to open up everything. "Off-topic forum :: RE: DIP Trace schematic and PCB users?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-08-30 13:45:36

The last time I tried it (~3-4 months ago) the schematic and component editors were wonderful but the layout editor was still kind of mediocre and the autorouter was positively brain-damaged (among other things completely ignoring the specified minimum clearances between pads and traces). However they've probably released at least one or two new versions since then so those complaints might undergo been addressed. I actually undergo the full registered version. I have have not used it for any high density boards but the autorouter worked just book for the boards I undergo done. The only real complaint I would have is that the component search engine is quite slow. I tried the 30-day version; it ended for me in the schematic "interpret" (why on Earth is that "capture" anyway?).. It worked very slow and reworking some connections was very unintuitive like I deleted a wire and then the pins would not highlight so I could not displace the wire again.. cram like that all that made me really neurotic after an hour or so of using it. The go consisted of only one IC (a 144-pin one though) and a few resistors/capacitors don't know why it had to be so decrease. I liked autoplacer feature though. Maybe it's not as good as it seems at first sight but I'd like to see that in Eagle. the good news.. it keeps getting better!!!the bad news. everytime I try it the editiing of an existing layout is not as productive as it should be IMDAO.. their non commercial authorise looks like a step in the right direction for hobby typesI wish they would add the import of old gerber formats for conversion and editing. choose of like gerbview does but this would allow one to edit old designs and alter them alter them act a netlist and save it going forward.. provide Diptrace with a marketing advantage vs other cad tools.... I was hoping to be able to merchandise old Protel for DOS stuff. I have some utility programs that will do a DXF conversion which in theory should be able to be imported into DIP Trace. Too busy at the moment to play.. and old habits are so hard to break will I be able to command a window version of a CAD schedule after 20 years or so of DOS CAD?? Srsly though. DipTrace is the most counter-human software I've ever seen. Well second after Linux. If you can't make it through it don't hurry to write yourself off try a different case first. could not make any comprehend of it! The other challenge is do I be to spend money for something I already have.. just to act up with the.... Freaks? Yeah. I evaluate shoot definitely is a bit less intuitive than DipTrace especially for someone starting from adjoin with no prior undergo using AutoCAD or DOS-era CAD/PCB apps. As of the March 2007 version. DipTrace comfort has a bit of growing up to do before it'll truly be Eagle's equal peer.. but that's OK because unlike shoot. DipTrace is constantly improving with new releases every few months. Eventually it ordain surpass shoot because shoot has been fairly stagnant since anyone can remember. CADSoft's problem is that they're painted into a corner with Eagle. If they keep the same UI and workflow for a new version they're going to look worse and worse compared to DipTrace. But if they overhaul Eagle to make it more desire DipTrace they'll piss off and alienate 95% of their existing user base. Think: Lotus 1-2-3 circa 1992 and WordPerfect circa 1995. Both apps were the UNQUESTIONED market leaders of their day but both eventually were cause to be perceived by the fact that they COULDN'T really create by mental act further to obtain additional market share without completely alienating their existing loyal users. WordPerfect did a decent job of limping through the transition to Windows while remaining keystroke-compatible but 1-2-3 went down in flames shortly after Lotus went berserk with the hieroglyphics (bequeath the 200 or so icons the last study version had? The jokes about trying to figure out what a checkmark next to a lightning bolt meant?)I DO think that someone starting from adjoin with no previous experience will almost certainly be able to do a lot more 24 hours. 72 hours and 1 week after starting to learn how to use DipTrace than he'd be able to do with Eagle after investing similar amounts of time. Eventually someone who perseveres with shoot ordain gain more cater (somewhere around t=3 months) but like I said. I don't evaluate that situation will be the case after another year or two of DipTrace's continued development. The circuit consisted of only one IC (a 144-pin one though) and a few resistors/capacitors don't know why it had to be so slow. The reason is using Windows GDI for drawing and slow computer. We are now adding Direct3D support and drawing in the next version will be much faster. Also it will be possible to build wires without automatic mode. Regarding "deleting wire and pins are not highlighted again" - this is strange should work correctly (maybe you hided equip not deleted). I guess it's very human-specific then.. I never ever.

And/or the > original writers aren't around any more. Now go on... measure time I checked. CadSoft was still around publishingupdates and making money with their product. Ten plus years should havebeen enough to implement a separation between program and data. That's notrocket science (or embedded programming :)If OTOH you're talking about some other software that was written for Win9xor even Win3 x or MS-DOS and it comfort runs on Vista you should be glad... > Its not like a car populate don't come along ripping up the road then > saying your car isn't compatible with the new road any more. Not exactly that but something along a exceed analogy. The first car Ibought in the US was an old Pontiac station wagon and I bought it in Ohio. At the time it was made it was perfectly legal both in CA and in OH. Atthe time I bought it it was comfort legal in OH but when I moved to CA. Ihad to change it. CA had in the meantime changed the emissions regulations. And I couldn't get an upgrade from GM (like you may get from CadSoft :)> That bugs me and in large move there's no alternative. Alternative 1 may be not to run Vista. I think so far there are few reasonsthat really make you use Vista. Alternative 2 may be to get CadSoft'slatest version (if that fixes things). Alternative 3 may be to let CadSoftknow that their paying customers would like software that's writtenaccording to the specs of the system it's written for. (Maybe they coulddocument this behavior if they didn't and don't be to fix it and add itto their Vista FAQ <>.) It's notalways the system that's at fault when an app does weird things.> (That's why I'm using python to write the replacement software for the> particular "car" that my clients undergo problems with once they move to> linux my support times will drop)Possibly but then maybe partly because people who run Linux wouldn'taccept applications that write their data just anywhere. And if the appdoesn't have create verbally permissions on Linux for the place where it wants tostore data the system doesn't cause either and lets the user decide whereto put the data... :)Gerhard-- PIC/SX FAQ & list archiveView/change your membership options at
