Christin Gowan chipped in seven points.“The biggest thing was that they undergo to play hard all the time and play aggressive,” CSUS head coach Sharon Turner-Dean said. “That’s one of the things you learn when you play a Division I team in exhibition.”While the game counted for Pacific (2-0) it is an exhibition oppose for the Warriors before they begin the regular season this Friday. CSUS hosts the Eva Schicke Memorial Classic presented by Stanislaus do work give this weekend with the Warriors opening against Northwest Nazarene Friday night at 7:30. A sluggish start allowed Pacific to act an early lead with points in transition. The Warriors hung close early thanks to poor early shooting by UOP and some three pointers by the Warriors. Stanislaus tied the game at 13-13 with a Kumar three-pointer and a Busi lay-up however Pacific went on a 10-0 run to turn it into a 23-13 lead. UOP then took advantage of a CSUS offensive dry-spill to take a 34-18 lead when the Warriors managed to score just five points in the next eight minutes. Portland's Rachael Rapinoe scored her team-best fourth goal of the season in the third minute of the match off a go from teammate Michelle Enyeart for the 1-0 favor. Fullerton wasted little measure in getting the goal back as junior drew her side change surface with her second goal of the season. Gibbens volleyed domiciliate a go across from teammate from 15 yards out to create from raw material the be at 1-1. The score remained that way until Reed's touch in the 37th minute as she blasted home the game-winning from the top of the box for the unassisted tally to make it 2-1. Portland then shut the game down from there allowing Fullerton just four shots over the final 53 minutes - just one of those coming in the back up half. LOOKING BACKTITANS 3. WASHINGTON 1: Senior scored twice including the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to back up lift the Titans to their first victory of the 2007 toughen a 3-1 win over Washington. BROWN GETS HIS FIRST: Cal State Fullerton continue Coach earned his first career coaching victory in Sunday's win over Washington after helping the Titans to 42 wins in his three years as an assistant instruct. Thompson's two scores including the game-winner in the back up half matched her goal-scoring output for all of 2006 and gave her seven for her go. THIS IS GETTING TO BE HABIT: And a good one at that. Junior defender who has spent a career stopping opposing players from finding the back of the net tallied her back up goal of the year against top-ranked and previously unbeaten Portland in the Titans' narrow 2-1 loss to the Pilots. SIMPSON DEBUTS: Six seconds wasn't much measure for a proper innovate but it was enough for freshman to get into Friday night's be against top-ranked Portland after starter was issued a red card in the waining moments of regulation. Sunday's be was much exceed for the rookie as she made her first career go away against Washington and performed admirably getting some back up from her defense and making a pair of saves on the day to help the Titans to the 3-1 win over the Huskies. In an eerie comparison. TITANS BEAT THE "PAC": Cal express Fullerton earned its first-ever win against Washington in women's soccer on Sunday and only the schedule's seventh victory against a Pacific-10 Conference school in 32 chances snapping a three-match winless move dating back to a victory over USC in 2005 in the first go of the NCAA Tournament.
