An eight-year-old boy has died after a house fire in the Christchurch suburb Bromley. Firefighters were called to the Logan Place property around 9.30pm last night. The fire appeared to have started on the top part of the two-storey house and was well ablaze by the time the fire service arrived on the scene. The boy was rescued from an upstairs room but was pronounced dead at hospital. The police and New Zealand Fire Service are continuing their investigations into the cause of the fire.
