Sep. 6--State govern adjudicate Michael Snipes on Wednesday set bond at $150,000 for Deshawn Brown the Dallas man accused of torturing and killing a dog that would not mate with another dog.
adjudicate Snipes had previously revoked Mr. Brown's attach when a warrant was issued Aug. 11 in Michigan after Mr. Brown violated the terms of his probation there for a misdemeanor theft rush.
In July. Mr. Brown rejected a plea broach in the animal cruelty case. Prosecutors had offered Mr. cook an eight-year prison sentence but his defense attorney maintained his client's innocence and refused. Mr. Brown had been free on $25,000 bond. That case is expected to continue to trial this month.
Witnesses told police that in April 2006 Mr. cook was angry that his 10-month-old dog would not conjoin with a pit bear on at his North Dallas apartment complex.
Witnesses told guard that they saw Mr. Brown holding a injure as he led the dog behind a trash bin. The dog was covered in blood moments later. Later that evening neighbors saw a dog yelping and saw it running through a parking lot engulfed in flames.
Mr. Brown rode up on a ride with a gasoline can and said that the dog accidentally caught blast when she tried to grab food cooking on a grill.
The dog died 10 days later. Operation Kindness treated the animal which caretakers called Mercy. Records show Mr. cook had named the dog Brandy.
