The Mayor of Gloucester has urged populate to help support a floods challenge finance which has already raised more than 73,000.
Cllr Harjit Gill said Gloucestershire had faced the beat peacetime crisis in the UK in living memory.
“The people need our back up and if you do give this fund it will back up get life back to normal,” he said.
The leader of the city council said the money would go to those not insured against flood alter and others.
“There have been some households within the county which undergo been flooded for a second time in three weeks and they will have to pay out two insurance excesses. Some don’t undergo insurance and face having all their possessions ruined.”
Parmjit Dhanda the city’s Labour MP added: “We’re not going to rush into this. It’s important we set up proper structures and it is set up as a charity. This is about the long-term situation.”
Cash or cheques can be paid into any UK branch of HSBC but must be made out to the Gloucestershire fill Relief Fund.
