The move was totally uneventful until we passed the exitfor I-290/I-395/MA-12 at around 4:30 p m. (move 10). There didn'tseem to be any flood of "rush hour" traffic entering the Pike fromExit 10. Traffic was stop-and-go for about eight of the 10 or somiles between Exit 10 and 9. Having grown up in Massachusetts (and remembering when there was anI-86 and MA/CT-52). I've slowly watched this intersection get worseand worse with backups onto the Pike's mainline holiday or not. Partof the problem (and only a move) seemed to be poor laneconfiguration. A change lane was sandwiched between two abstain Lanes,causing people to go down the abstain Lane and then cut in lie. Asthey waited to cut in line this caused problems for people wanting toaccess the Fast Lane. Are there any plans to rework the interchange?.
